Lukinu, who grew up in Berlin and whose real name is Denilson Jonas Pedro, impresses not only with his references and his spirited manner behind the turntables. His pronounced feeling for RnB, Hip Hop and especially Afrobeats is astonishing. You can tell in every set and sentence from him: he loves & lives the music! It was a logical consequence that he started DJing in 2016.
“Lukinu” originally comes from the Angolan Kikongo (the Bakongo tribe in the Uíge province) and translated means “dancing”. Through his knowledge of music, the only focus is on winning over the guest again and again by dancing and fading out everything around him.
Various Afrobeats and Hip Hop organizers as well as organizers from the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin and across Germany became aware of him early on.
In 2017 he became a member of the Freak de l’Afrique sound system and event organizer, where he can be found every month in the House of Weekend, Prince Charles, Festsaal Kreuzberg and many more. He has already played at after-show parties by artists such as Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Maleek Berry and many more
